Sheep Shearing Day at Thistle Cove Farm is April 09, 2011. We begin around 9 a.m. and the sheep are shorn by around noon but the good times roll until 4 or 5 p.m. depending on visitor interest.
Clinton has been shearing sheep for about four decades and knows his stuff by now. He'll answer your questions, let you take photos and enjoys the process and the day...generally -smile-.
Lost Arts Guild members demonstrate heritage crafts like spinning, weaving, basketry, broom making, blacksmithy, making mountain dulcimers, quilting and more. It just depends on who is available that day.
Cove Community Association members sell home made food and beverages and all members live in this valley and are proud to answer questions.
Directions are found at Thistle Cove Farm with more information on the TCF blog. If you have need of more information, e-mail Sandra, address on the blog, and she'll help, best she can.

Love the picture, though it sure makes it seem a long way off until the sheep can be sheared!
