Spend July 4th at Fredericksburg Heritage Festival

Our next show is the Fredericksburg Heritage Festival on the 4th of July in Downtown Fredericksburg.  If you don't have plans this is going to be great. The festival kicks off with a 5K marathon, followed by a parade, entertainment on stage all day, family activities and of course the craft show with artisans from all over.

Here are a few pictures of our last two shows.

Sally Melville to Teach in Yorktown!

jpeg

We at Coordinated Colors know very well that money is tight.
The cost of Gas is off the wall and everything is getting more expensive.

We are doing our best to keep prices as low as possible for our customers.
We believe that buying local and American as much as possible will help all of us in the long run.

We sincerely thank all of you, our customers for your continued support and patronage!
Like so many other small companies,
Coordinated Colors Yarn Shoppe does not want to have to close.
We very much want to continue serving the knitting and crocheting community.

3 Think about which three independently owned stores
you’d miss most if they were gone. Stop in and say hello.
Pick up a little something that will make someone smile.
Your contribution is what keeps those businesses around.

50 If just half the employed U.S. population spent $50 each
month in independently owned stores, their purchases
would generate $42,629,700,000 in revenue.* Imagine the
positive impact if 3/4 of employed Americans did that.

68 For every $100 spent in independently owned stores,
$68 of it returns to the community through taxes, payroll,
and other expenditures. If you spend that in a national
chain, only $43 stays here. Spend it online and nothing
comes home.

Be sure to bring him a diet soda

His favorite is diet Dr. Pepper!
I wanted to share with you an email I received from the owner of Skacel
"We truly appreciate your patience as we await more addi Clicks in both the Basic Turbo and the Lace versions. You are probably asking, why the delay? Well, we had a choice of volume versus quality, and we have chosen quality. Thus the factory is making some adjustments in how the sets are made to assure us that every tip we send out has a smooth connection.
I know the delay is a hardship on many of you, and I assure you, Thomas Selter, owner of addi, and his crew are doing their best to find a solution as quickly as possible. This is not a pleasant situation for Selter or skacel either, as we all are taking a loss while we work this out. However, Thomas and I strongly believe that everything we sell should not only work, but should be of the highest standards. That is what addi and skacel have always been about, and accordingly, we will not ship until once more we can assure our high level of quality.
At this time we do not have an anticipated arrival date. However, I do assure you, that as soon as we do, we will let everyone know.
Thank you for your continued patience.
Karin Skacel"

Sheep Shearing Day 4.09.11

~ say whaaaat? ~
Sheep Shearing Day at Thistle Cove Farm is April 09, 2011. We begin around 9 a.m. and the sheep are shorn by around noon but the good times roll until 4 or 5 p.m. depending on visitor interest.

Clinton has been shearing sheep for about four decades and knows his stuff by now. He'll answer your questions, let you take photos and enjoys the process and the day...generally -smile-.

Lost Arts Guild members demonstrate heritage crafts like spinning, weaving, basketry, broom making, blacksmithy, making mountain dulcimers, quilting and more. It just depends on who is available that day.

Cove Community Association members sell home made food and beverages and all members live in this valley and are proud to answer questions.

Directions are found at Thistle Cove Farm with more information on the TCF blog. If you have need of more information, e-mail Sandra, address on the blog, and she'll help, best she can.
